On Monday we ventured back into Seoul to do a walking tour along the old city wall that we had found in the information center near Central Park. This was an uneventful trip 1.45 hour trip in by train with 1 train change.
When we arrived at our designated station, we stopped in the restroom before venturing out. I went into a stall that was a bit different than what I normally see but which could speed up some mommy/child trips.

Heunginjimun, the Seoul City Wall, was originally built in 1396 and surrounded Seoul (then called Hanyang) during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1897). It stretches for over 18 kilometers and originally had 8 gates, 6 of which remain. We walked a short part of it to an observation area in Naksan Park.

About partway up the hill along the wall, the walk had us venture down the hill across from the wall to see the murals and other artwork created by youth with government support. The concept reminded us a bit of the graffiti wall in Austin.

We’ve been into views so far on this trip. Here’s a few from atop Naksan Park.

Once we came down from the park, we were in a very cool neighborhood of Daehangno which had a lot of cool retail, restaurants, and theatres.

In an unrelated note, Bob and I have been watching the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel while here. We hadn’t seen it before, but I had heard good things. We’re about 6 episodes into Season One. We definitely recommend it! The story and dialogue are great, but it’s worth watching just for the costumes and music. Keep thinking Bob might be inspired to say that there really ought to be a show called the Marvelous Mrs. Peck, but yeah, not so far.
